Chances Team Leader
After graduating from Westminster Choir College with a degree in vocal music, Dana spent a year as an Americorps volunteerwhere her interest in the nonprofit sector blossomed.
When not pedaling with Gearing Up, Dana can be found teaching voice, piano, or Oboe lessons, directing a youth choir, giving tours at the National Liberty Museum, performing with Dayma, singing in the city choir, or at a local opera theatre. Women at CHANCES are inspired by her patience, compassion and sense of humor.
Dana's First Bicycle:
A kids mountain bike – it was magenta with a black splattered paint design!
Why Dana Loves Working for Gearing Up:
"I started cycling regularly five years ago as a mode of transportation when I moved to Philadelphia, but soon realized that in addition to getting where I needed to be, riding a bicycle gave me more energy and improved my emotional and physical health. I like helping other women find the same positive emotions that are created when riding a bicycle."
